Car-to-Car Shooting on 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights Leads to Fatal Crash
HACIENDA HEIGHTS, CA (July 6, 2021) – One person was killed in a car-to-car shooting on 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights Saturday afternoon.
The shooting and subsequent crash happened around 12:28 p.m. on July 3, near Seventh Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the gunman remained at large after the incident that resulted in a multi-vehicle crash.
A man died at the hospital, while his two sons sustained unspecified injuries. It is still unclear if any of the victims were struck by gunfire.
Officers described the suspect vehicle as a gray Toyota Corolla or Camry.
After the shooting and collision, the CHP closed down all eastbound lanes of the 60 Freeway at the 605 Freeway interchange.
At this time, authorities are still investigating the fatality and on the lookout for the suspect.
