Two-Car Crash on Highway 14 in Mojave Kills Driver and Hurts Passenger

 
MOJAVE, CA (February 22, 2024) – A woman died in a two-car accident on Highway 14 in Mojave Wednesday morning on February 21.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:55 a.m. at the Highway 58 off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a 2015 Chrysler with 63-year-old Jesus Medina of Ridgecrest as her passenger. They were heading north on Highway 14.
 
At the same time, 80-year-old Brenda Carlson and 81-year-old Edwin Carlson of Angwin were driving a 2005 Chevrolet 3500 west on the Highway 58 off-ramp.
 
For unknown reasons, the two cars collided at the intersection.
 
As a result of the crash, the woman driving the Chrysler died at the scene. She was a 61-year-old Ridgecrest resident.
 
Medina was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the Carlsons were not injured.

Impairment is not suspected as a contributing factor of the crash, which is under investigation.
