Two-Vehicle Crash on Forty Mile Road in Yuba County Kills 1 Driver and Injures Another

 
YUBA COUNTY, CA (May 30, 2023) – A woman died and Jack Cogburn was injured after a two-vehicle accident in Yuba County Saturday morning on May 27.
 
The accident happened around 7:50 a.m. on Forty Mile Road, just south of Hoffman Plumas Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving 2013 Mazda 6 when she made an unsafe turning movement to the left and collided head-on with a Dodge Ram 3500.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 49-year-old North Highlands resident.
 
Cogburn, 88 years old from Brownsville, was the driver of the Dodge. He suffered major injuries, including a broken leg.
 
CHP said it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
