Transient Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Foothill Boulevard in Fontana

 
FONTANA, CA (August 15, 2023) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Foothill Boulevard and Sierra Avenue in Fontana late Saturday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:53 p.m. on August 12, just near a Mobil gasoline station. According to the Fontana Police Department, the female pedestrian was walking in the eastbound lanes of Foothill Boulevard when a dark-colored sedan struck her.
 
After the crash, the driver of the car fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
The victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 27-year-old transient. Her name was withheld pending positive identification and notification of the next of kin.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
