BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 22, 2023) — A woman died in a fiery 2-car accident on the 5 Freeway near Rowlee Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle collision happened around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a northbound Volkswagen Atlas veered into the No. 2 lane and struck a northbound 2019 Kenwood tractor-trailer in front of it.
