Woman Hospitalized in 2-Car Accident Involving Robbers on Highway 180 in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (March 16, 2023) — A woman suffered major injuries in a 2-car crash involving robbery suspects on Highway 180 at Cornelia Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 6:00 a.m. Thursday. Upon spotting two teenagers involved in an earlier robbery at a northwest Fresno Chevron station, officers tried to pull the suspects over. However, a chase quickly ensued but was called off by officers due to high speeds.
 
As the suspects fled through Highway 180 at Cornelia Avenue, a woman crashed into the side of their car. Due to the crash, both vehicles ended up in a field.
 
Arriving paramedics brought the woman in the uninvolved vehicle to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. The suspects, however, tried leaving, but officers captured them and took them into custody.
