Woman Struck, Killed by Driver on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo

 
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (September 12, 2022) — A woman was hit and killed by a car on Highway 101 near Highway 1 on Saturday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on the northbound highway. For unknown reasons, a woman described as Jane Doe tried to cross the lanes of Highway 101 North. However, an oncoming Toyota Prius moving at 70 miles per hour struck her.
 
Soon after, San Luis Obispo units with the CHP arrived and found the woman with fatal injuries. Authorities subsequently contacted the San Luis Obispo County coroner’s office to tend to the body.
 
At this time, reports do not have information on the Toyota Prius driver or the factors that led to the accident. If anyone has information on this fatal crash, please call the San Luis Obispo CHP Area office Public Information Officer at (805) 594-8700.
