Bicyclist Hospitalized after Collision with Bus on Spruce Street [Berkeley, CA]

BERKELEY, CA (May 10, 2024) – A bicyclist sustained injuries in a collision involving a bus on Spruce Street, Wednesday evening.
 
According to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on May 8, at about 5:30 p.m. As per reports, the bicyclist was coming down the hill before crashing into a stopped AC Transit bus near Regal Road.
 
The Berkeley Fire Department rushed the cyclist to Highland Hospital for treatment of serious leg injuries. The victim was described as a woman in her 20s.
 
Responders temporarily closed the area to make way for an investigation.
 
The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
