BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 22, 2024) — A woman was hit and injured by a car on Stockdale Highway near Garnsey Avenue.
 
According to Bakersfield Police, the pedestrian accident happened around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, a 45-year-old woman was standing outside a stopped car, blocking the No. 3 eastbound lane. Subsequently, an eastbound Cadillac driver struck her and the vehicle.
 
Shortly after, Bakersfield Police responded to the 3700 block of Stockdale Highway and arrested the Cadillac driver on suspicion of DUI. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the female victim to a hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
