SANTA BARBARA, CA (September 28, 2023) — A woman was hit and injured by a car on Foothill Road near Tye Road.
 
According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, the call about the crash came in around 3:29 p.m. Tuesday.
 
Authorities learned that a driver hit the accelerator pedal rather than the brake pedal, which caused the vehicle to strike the woman. Upon responding, firefighter-paramedics arrived to find the woman underneath the car. With haste, firefighters freed the victim from the undercarriage and brought her to Santa Barbara Cottage for treatment of minor injuries.
 
At this time, authorities, do not have information on the driver involved or if police cited the driver.
