Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Edison Highway in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 24, 2022) — A woman died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Edison Highway near Weedpatch Highway Thursday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 11:04 p.m. Thursday. While trying to cross the road outside of a marked crosswalk, a woman was hit by an oncoming vehicle traveling in the eastbound’s fast lane.
 
The unidentified driver left the scene for unknown reasons, leaving the 42-year-old woman with fatal injuries.
 
At this time, police need the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in this crash. It’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a factor. However, we will update this report with more information should we receive any.
