Driver Suffers Critical Injuries after Crashing into Semi Truck on 15 Freeway in Fallbrook

 
FALLBROOK, CA (August 6, 2022) – A woman was critically injured in a semi-truck accident on 15 Freeway in Fallbrook on Wednesday, August 3.
 
The accident happened around 6:20 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Mission Road. According to the North County Fire Protection District, the woman was driving a Volkswagen Golf TDI hatchback when she rear-ended the semi truck. Her car then became partially stuck under the semi’s trailer.
 
Firefighters arrived within eight minutes and were able to free the woman from the wreckage.
 
Paramedics then took woman to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido with critical injuries.
 
The woman was the sole occupant of the Volkswagen.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
