Woman, Child Hurt in Temecula Multi-Car Crash on 15 Freeway
TEMECULA, CA (May 5, 2023) — A woman and a child were injured in a multi-car accident on the 15 Freeway near Winchester Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle collision happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a tow truck rear-ended a vehicle, causing it to overturn. The tow truck continued out of control and crashed into two other vehicles before it came to a stop.
At some point during the accident, a swarm of bees covered the area after the beehive was disturbed by the crash.
Soon after, Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters arrived at the scene and treated a woman and a child in the overturned car for mild to moderate injuries. Paramedics shuttled the pair to Inland Valley Hospital for treatment.
Authorities do not know what led to the accident but are looking into speed and distracted driving as possible factors.
When driving, pay attention to the road. Scan the area and keep a considerable distance from your car and the vehicle in front of you. You may find stopped traffic ahead, debris on the road or disabled vehicles.
