Woman, 6-Year-Old Killed in Rollover Crash on Douglas Drive in Oceanside

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (January 19, 2023) — A woman and a 6-year-old child died in a rollover accident on Douglas Drive near Pala Road.
 
According to the Oceanside police, the single-car crash occurred around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.
 
For unknown reasons, a 30-year-old woman driving southbound at a high rate of speed lost control of her vehicle near Pala Road. As a result, the midsize SUV struck a tree, overturned and rolled over several times before coming to a stop.
 
At some point in the crash, a 6-year-old girl and the driver were ejected from the vehicle. Both occupants suffered fatal injuries. Authorities have withheld their names pending notification of family members.
 
Soon after, arriving crews found a 13-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy in the heavily damaged SUV. All patients, two of whom suffered critical injuries, sought care at a nearby hospital.
 
Authorities have not identified the cause of the crash. However, if any witnesses would like to help the CHP, please call the Oceanside police.
