INDIO, CA (March 31, 2021) — Officials identified 73-year-old William Mohan, of Indio, as the man dead in a bicycle accident on Sunday.
 
The incident happened on Avenue 48, just east of Jefferson Street at around 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 28.
 
According to the Indio Police Department, a Chrysler sedan struck the cyclist. Medics pronounced Mohan dead at the scene of the collision.
 
The involved driver stopped at the crash site and cooperated with authorities.
 
Officials closed a roughly half-mile stretch of Jefferson for several hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.
