Wakeen Best Killed in Hit-and-Run on Watt Avenue [North Highlands, CA]

Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver at Watt Avenue and Roseville Road

 
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (August 31, 2021) – Wakeen Best was killed in a hit-and-run crash in North Highlands late Thursday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:50 p.m. on August 26, at the intersection of Watt Avenue and Roseville Road, just near the Sacramento McClellan Airport. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 37-year-old victim was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him. The involved driver did not stop to render aid.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and located Best suffering from major injuries. They performed life-saving aid, but the victim died at the scene.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
 
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
