Victor Gonzalez Paredes Jr. Killed in Watsonville Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident

 
WATSONVILLE, CA (May 13, 2022) — A man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in the 1900 block of Main Street near Green Valley Road on Thursday, May 5.
 
The Santa Cruz County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian as 24-year-old Victor Gonzalez Paredes Jr.
 
According to Watsonville Police, the accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Investigators now believe the driver was operating a dark-colored sedan, not a white four-door like they previously thought.
 
Police believe Paredes Jr. was possibly incorrectly crossing six lanes of traffic on Main Street when the vehicle hit him.
 
Shortly after, emergency personnel arrived and rushed Paredes Jr. to a trauma center where he died from his injuries.
 
The suspect involved reportedly left the scene toward Highway 1, leaving investigators on a search for this person’s whereabouts. The vehicle is expected to have right front-end damage, according to police.
