Lanes Closed after Horse-Trailer Accident on Highway 14 near Abbott Drive in Ricardo

 
RICARDO, CA (May 13, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a horse-trailer accident on Highway 14, late Thursday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on May 12 at about 4:40 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a sedan and a pickup truck carrying a horse trailer collided near Abbott Drive.
 
Responders confirmed that multiple people sustained injuries in the collision. However, the number of injured people and the extent of their injuries remain unknown.
 
Meanwhile, Animal Control arrived at the scene to render aid to an injured horse.
 
The collision blocked the no. 1 southbound lane and caused slowed traffic in the northbound lanes of Highway 14.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
