Passenger Dies after Car Crashes into Tractor Trailer in Fontana

 
FONTANA, CA (February 1, 2023) – Ulises Gonzalez was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Fontana Monday afternoon on January 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:14 p.m. in the 11160 block of Mulberry Avenue. According to the Fontana Police Department, a driver parked his tractor and trailer on the west side of Mulberry and then made an illegal U-turn across lanes of traffic and tried to go northbound on Mulberry.
 
A Honda Civic was traveling southbound and went under the rear of the trailer.
 
Gonzalez, a 21-year-old Fontana resident, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a passenger in the Civic.
 
The driver of Civic, also 21 years old, was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
 
The driver of the tractor stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
