Mother and Daughter Suffer Critical Injuries after Hit by Pickup Truck on San Pedro Street in Downtown LA

 
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, CA (June 11, 2023) – Two women were critically injured in a pedestrian accident on San Pedro Street in downtown Los Angeles Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened around 9:42 a.m. on June 10, at 916 San Pedro Street in the Flower District. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a 50-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter had been waiting for a bus prior to the crash.
 
A large pickup truck jumped a curb, slammed into a bus stop and a flattened a fence. It then struck the two victims and a couple of cars.
 
Both the woman and her daughter were rushed to a hospital in critical condition. The daughter suffered several fractures.
 
A man who was driving the pickup remained on scene. Police said he appeared to have suffered an unspecified medical emergency before the crash.
 
An investigation into this crash is underway.
