Multiple Vehicles Collide on 5 Freeway in San Clemente Leaving One Person Dead

 
SAN CLEMENTE, CA (June 11, 2023) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway in San Clemente Saturday morning on June 10.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:10 a.m. at Avenida De Estrella. According to the California Highway Patrol, multiple vehicles collided along the southbound freeway for unknown reasons.
 
As a result of the crash, one person suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead. It is unclear if that person died at the scene or at the hospital.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim was withheld pending next of kin notification.
 
No further information was immediately available. The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
