Rollover Accident on 15 Freeway in Apple Valley Kills Two 17-Year-Old Victorville Teens
APPLE VALLEY, CA (January 24, 2022) – Two teens were killed in a rollover accident on 15 Freeway in Apple Valley on Friday evening.
The accident happened around 8:25 p.m. on January 21 near Wild Wash Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a dark-colored BMW sedan carrying three male teens was traveling northbound when its tire flew off. It then went off the right shoulder and across lanes of traffic, where it overturned.
As the car rolled over, one occupant was ejected and another was trapped inside.
Officers responded and pronounced the driver, a 17-year-old Hispanic male from Victorville, dead at the scene.
Paramedics transported the 17-year-old Hispanic male passenger from Victorville to Victor Valley Global Medical Center Emergency Department. Sadly, the passenger also did not survive and was pronounced dead at 9:03 p.m.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office withheld the identities of the victims pending next of kin notification.
Meanwhile, the third occupant of the vehicle was not injured and declined medical transportation.
At this time, an investigation is ongoing.
