DUI Head-On Crash on Santiago Canyon Road in Silverado Kills Both Drivers

 
SILVERADO, CA (March 11, 2024) – Two men were killed in a DUI head-on crash on Santiago Canyon Road in Silverado Saturday evening on March 9.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:00 p.m. on Santiago Canyon Road, just west of Limestone Spur Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2018 Ford and a 1993 Toyota collided head-on at the intersection.
 
As a result, the driver of Ford suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities only identified him as a 34-year-old La Habra man.
 
A 42-year-old Santa Ana man driving the Toyota was rushed to Orange County Global Medical Center, where he later died.
 
Both cars sustained major front-end damage from the crash.
 
Authorities believe alcohol played a role in the crash, which is still under investigation.
