Early Morning Wrong-Way Crash on 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch Leaves 2 Dead

 
PORTER RANCH, CA (March 6, 2023) – – Two people were killed in a wrong-way accident on 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch early Sunday morning on March 5.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:25 a.m. at the Tampa Avenue off-ramp. According to the CHP, a dark-colored sedan was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when it slammed into a semi truck. It then landed on the embankment of the off-ramp.
 
As a result, two people were pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office withheld the identities of the victims pending next of kin notification.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed two other people to regional trauma centers with unspecified injuries.
 
The CHP is still investigating the cause of the crash and factors involved.
