Fiery Head-On Accident on West Main Street in Patterson Kills Two Drivers

 
PATTERSON, CA (September 23, 2021) – Two people were killed in a fiery head-on accident on West Main Street east of Patterson early Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened just before 5:00 a.m. on September 23, near Jennings Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 47-year-old Turlock woman was driving a Nissan sedan westbound when for unknown reasons, she drifted into the oncoming lane. A Ford pickup truck, driven by a 69-year-old Patterson man, then struck her car head-on.
 
The pickup caught fire after the impact and was soon fully engulfed in flames.
 
Both drivers died at the scene. Authorities withheld their names pending notification of their family members.
 
At this time, it is unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
