Two-Vehicle Accident on Grapefruit Boulevard in Coachella Kills 1 and Sends Another to Hospital

 
COACHELLA, CA (September 23, 2021) – One person died in a two-vehicle accident at Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 52 Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 8:00 a.m. on September 23. According to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, two vehicles have collided at the intersection for unknown reasons.
 
As a result, one person died at the scene. The identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
 
Paramedics transported another patient to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
After the crash, crews closed the Grapefruit Boulevard for an unknown duration while they cleared the wreckage.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
