Wrong-Way Driver Causes Accident on 14 Freeway in Acton

 
ACTON, CA (July 6, 2021) – Two people sustained injuries in a wrong-way accident on 14 Freeway in Acton Friday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 2:45 p.m. on July 2, just south of Crown Valley Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a wrong-way driver entered the northbound lanes of the freeway and collided with a big rig. The impact caused the big rig to burst into flames.
 
The crash also sparked a quarter-acre brush fire that was quickly stopped, according to county fire officials.
 
Responding paramedics took two people to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Crews closed all northbound lanes for an unknown duration and southbound traffic was getting by on the right shoulder. They diverted traffic onto Ward Road.
