Intoxicated Driver Causes Three-Vehicle Accident on Railroad Canyon Road in Lake Elsinore

 
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (July 6, 2021) – Two people sustained critical injuries in a three-vehicle accident on Railroad Canyon Road.
 
The accident happened around 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, at Country Club Drive. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, an intoxicated driver was traveling over the speed limit, lost control and smashed into another vehicle head-on. The impact of the initial crash caused another collision with a third vehicle.
 
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported two drivers to a hospital in critical condition.
 
The third driver was unharmed.
 
Drugs appear to be a factor in the collision, but authorities did not say whether any arrests were made. Further investigation is underway.
