BYRON, CA (July 6, 2021) – Five people, including four children, suffered injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Vasco Road late Thursday afternoon, July 1.
 
The accident happened around 5:33 p.m. at Walnut Boulevard, according the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District. Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available, but paramedics responded to the scene and found five patients.
 
An air ambulance transported one child to Oakland’s Children’s Hospital, while a ground ambulance took two juveniles to the hospital. Another child and an adult were transported to Antioch’s Kaiser Hospital.
 
The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District did not release the victims’ ages or conditions Thursday night. The California Highway Patrol was still investigating the cause of the crash.
