Pilot and Passenger Sustain Injuries after Skydiving Plane Crashes near Oceanside Municipal Airport

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (March 1, 2022) – Two people were injured in a skydiving plane crash at Foussat Road and Highway 76 in Oceanside on Thursday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 12:47 p.m. on February 24, near the Oceanside Municipal Airport. According to the Oceanside Police Department, the plane carrying two men lost altitude just short of reaching the airport.
 
One of the victims had to be freed from the plane’s damaged fuselage. Paramedics airlifted one to a trauma center in critical condition and took the other to a hospital in a ground ambulance for treatment of moderate to serious injuries.
 
Skydiving company GoJump Oceanside confirmed that the plane involved in the crash belongs to them. The plane is Cessna 208B Caravan, which holds 9 to 13 passengers.
 
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will conduct an investigation into the crash.
