Man Struck, Killed by Vehicle on 5 Freeway in Kings County

 
KINGS COUNTY, CA (March 1, 2022) — A man was hit and killed by a car on the 5 Freeway near Quebec Avenue on Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred near Kettleman City. Under unclear circumstances, two cars collided on the 5 Freeway near Quebec Avenue.
 
Subsequently, one of the drivers, described as a male, tried to leave the two-vehicle accident. However, as he fled and crossed the freeway lanes, an oncoming Nissan driven by a 33-year-old Fair Oaks man struck him.
 
Following the accident, paramedics and authorities responded and confirmed the man dead on arrival.
 
At this time, the circumstances of two-vehicle and pedestrian accidents require additional investigation. Therefore, any witnesses who would like to help the CHP can call the department.
