Early Morning DUI Accident near Foothill Boulevard in Fontana Traps Two People

 
FONTANA, CA (March 1, 2022) – Two people were taken to a hospital after a DUI accident near Foothill Boulevard and Mulberry Avenue, early Friday morning.
 
The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on February 25. According to the Fontana Police Department, a pickup truck crashed on top of a four-door Honda in unclear circumstances.
 
When officers arrived, they found two people trapped inside the Honda car. They immediately extricated one victim and rushed them to a local hospital.
 
Firefighters used the jaws of life to cut the second victim out of the vehicle. The extrication for that patient took at least thirty minutes.
 
Both victims luckily survived.
 
Fontana police later arrested the driver of the pickup truck on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
