Injuries Sustained in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 44 in Palo Cedro

 
PALO CEDRO, CA (August 31, 2021) – Paramedics sent two people to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 44 on August 23.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Deschutes Road around 5:45 PM.
 
Based on reports, four vehicles collided in the lanes. Investigators said a 2013 Kia was going west on the highway when it crossed over the double yellow line. Then, it went into oncoming traffic and struck a 2015 Toyota. Afterward, the Kia started spinning in the roadway and a 2013 Honda struck it. Also, a 2017 Subaru that was traveling behind the Honda was unable to avoid the collision and received minor damage. As a result, the force of that collision sheared the Kia in half.
 
Paramedics responded and took two victims to the hospital. The victims’ conditions were not immediately known.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
