Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 680 Freeway in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (August 31, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in an accident on 680 Freeway in San Jose Monday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:38 p.m. on August 30, at the Berryessa Road on-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol’s initial log, a gray Mercedes-Benz struck the pedestrian in unknown circumstances.
 
When officers arrived at the scene, they located at least eight vehicles on the right shoulder of the freeway and in the center divider, unknown if they were also involved.
 
San Jose firefighter paramedics provided life-saving measures on the pedestrian, but the victim died at the scene.
 
Officers issued a SigAlert in the area, blocking all freeway lanes for unknown reasons while they documented the accident.
 
No identifying information is being released at this time. The fatal accident remains under investigation.
