Plane Crashes on Moody Canyon Truck Trail near Acton, Two People Rescued

 
ACTON, CA (March 24, 2024) – Two people were airlifted in a plane crash on Moody Canyon Truck Trail near Acton Friday night on March 22.
 
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the pilot of a single-engine Piper PA-28 reported an engine issue around 6:30 p.m. They also added that two people were aboard the aircraft.
 
The Piper Cherokee aircraft had left Palmdale Regional Airport at approximately 5:40 p.m., and flew around 30-35 miles before crash landing.
 
Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics responded to Moody Canyon Truck Trail and BP&L Road, and rescued the two people aboard the aircraft.
 
The two occupants were then airlifted to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
An emergency response perimeter was set up in the remote area, where no homes are located.
 
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
