Two Drivers Seriously Injured in Sonoma County Head-On Accident on Highway 121

 
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (November 16, 2022) – Two people sustained serious injuries in a head-on accident on Highway 121 on Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on November 14 at about 9:29 a.m. A southbound Toyota Rav4 was reportedly attempting to pass another car when it collided with a northbound 2016 Acura RDX.
 
The impact of the collision pushed the Acura onto the east shoulder. Then, the Toyota collided with a 2016 Hyundai Sonata near Highway 37. As per reports, the Toyota overturned after colliding with the Hyundai.
 
A medical helicopter transported the Toyota driver, identified as a 38-year-old Benicia man, to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Another air ambulance transported the Acura driver, identified as a 55-year-old San Francisco woman, to John Muir Medical Center.
 
CHP continues to investigate the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
