Box Truck, Big Rig Collide, Causing Traffic on Highway 101 in Mendocino County

 
MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (March 10, 2023) — Officials reported traffic in the area after a box truck and a semi-truck crashed on Highway 101 near Highway 162.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol traffic incident log, the two-vehicle collision happened around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. For unknown reasons, a driver of a box truck lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic. Subsequently, the box truck collided with a semi-truck, causing traffic in the southbound lanes as the semi-truck partially blocked the No. 1 lane.
 
Due to the accident, an ambulance and two tow trucks responded to the scene. Officials did not say what caused the crash or if weather, speed or DUI played a role.
