MODESTO, CA (July 21, 2022) – Three people suffered serious injuries after a box truck and semi-truck crashed on southbound Highway 99 on July 16.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Carpenter Road around 5:14 AM.
 
Based on a report, a semi-truck rear-ended a 26,000-pound box truck. Subsequently, the box truck overturned in the lanes before a Buick hit it.
 
As a result, three people sustained major injuries in the incident. In addition, two other people had minor injuries. Paramedics transported the victims to area hospitals for treatment.
 
The box truck also blocked several lanes in the highway.
 
In the end, officers did not make any arrests. They also did not suspect drugs or alcohol to be factors in the crash.
