Motorcyclist Dennis Shakelford Dies after Struck by Car in Hemet

 
HEMET, CA (July 21, 2022) – Dennis Shakelford was killed in a motorcycle accident in Hemet late Monday evening on July 18.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:15 p.m. at Menlo Avenue and State Street. According to the Hemet Police Department, Shakelford was riding his motorcycle southbound on State Street and stopped for a red light at Menlo Avenue. When the light turned green, he slowly pulled into the intersection.
 
A white Hyundai sedan was also traveling south on State at a steady speed. It then struck the rear of the motorcycle.
 
As a result of the crash, 51-year-old Shakelford suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the sedan immediately stopped and cooperated with police. He sustained minor injuries.
 
An investigation is ongoing. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact the police Traffic Bureau at 951-765-2400.
