EL DORADO COUNTY, CA (November 30, 2022) – Three people sustained injuries in a wrong-way accident on Highway 50, Monday evening.
 
According to the California Department of Transportation, the incident happened on November 28, at about 9:20 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided near Schnell School Road.
 
Emergency crews transported two people to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Meanwhile, a third victim received treatment at the scene.
 
Caltrans temporarily blocked affected lanes to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
Responders believe that a wrong-way driver caused the accident.
 
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
