Couple Dies after Motorcycle Collides with Car in Victorville

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (October 19, 2023) Thomas Ortega and Elizabeth Mason Ortega died in a motorcycle accident in Victorville Saturday on October 14.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Amargosa Road and King Ranch Road, just north of the Mall of Victor Valley. According to the Victorville Fire Department, a silver 2015 Chevrolet Impala exited from the Chuck E. Cheese parking lot in front of the 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
 
The motorcycle then broadsided the Impala, driven by a 63-year-old Apple Valley woman.
 
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified Thomas Ortega, 34, as the motorcycle driver. He died at the scene. They also identified Elizabeth Ortega, 33, as the motorcycle’s passenger. She later succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital. The victims were husband and wife.
 
At this time, the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
