Fatal DUI Three-Vehicle Accident on 80 Freeway at Douglas Boulevard

 
ROSEVILLE, CA (April 25, 2021) – A teen driver was killed in a DUI three-vehicle accident on 80 Freeway in Roseville Thursday evening, April 22.
 
The crash happened around 9:43 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of freeway, just east of Douglas Boulevard exit. CHP officials said the 18-year-old Roseville man was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla eastbound when he lost control of the car. He then swerved into the center median barrier.
 
After hitting the median, the man swerved to the right through traffic, where a 2018 Ford Mustang and a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck both headed eastbound struck him.
 
Responding officers found the teen driver dead at the scene. The Placer County Coroner’s Office will release his identity one his family members are properly notified.
 
The two other drivers suffered minor injuries.
 
Police arrested the driver of the Chevrolet pickup on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
The crash is still under investigation. CHP officials asked witnesses to call 916-663-3344.
