Fatal Three-Vehicle Accident on 8 Freeway in Imperial County

 
IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA (April 24, 2021) – At least one person died in a three-vehicle accident on 8 Freeway Friday morning.
 
The accident happened around 8:15 a.m. on 8 Freeway, just west of Gordons Well Imperial Sand Dunes. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ford F-150, a Dodge Ram 1500 and another vehicle collided for unknown reasons. One of the vehicles had overturned from the impact.
 
The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the collision.
 
The Ford pickup truck had extensive, front-end damage while the Dodge pickup had extensive rollover damage.
 
No identifying information is being released at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
