26-Year-Old Woman Dies after Crash with Big Rig in Sun Valley

 
SUN VALLEY, CA (June 5, 2023) – Sonia Garcia was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Sun Valley early Saturday morning on June 3.
 
The fatal crash happened around 3:55 a.m. on Lankershim Boulevard near Cayuga Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Garcia was driving a 2015 Nissan Versa northbound on Lankershim Boulevard. For unknown reasons, she rear-ended a big rig, which had a white cabin and dark-colored trailer, as she approached Cayuya Avenue.
 
The impact caused the Versa to continue in a northeast direction and roll over.
 
Garcia suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 26-year-old Los Angeles resident.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the big rig failed to stop after the crash.
