Sean Stewart Killed in Head-On Accident on Highway 178 [Weldon, CA]

Head-On Crash in Weldon Kills 1 and Seriously Injures 3

 
WELDON, CA (April 2, 2024) – Sean Gordon Stewart was killed in a head-on accident in Weldon Saturday morning on March 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:30 a.m. along Highway 178, just west of Doyle Ranch Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Stewart was driving with a 59-year-old passenger when he collided head-on with a Toyota.
 
The impact of the crash caused Stewart fatal injuries and he died at the scene. He was a 42-year-old Onyx resident. His passenger suffered major injuries.
 
A 21-year-old driver and a 23-year-old passenger in the Toyota also suffered major injuries.
 
The three injured patients were all taken to Kern Medical for treatment.
 
A GoFundMe has been set up for Stewart’s funeral services and his family.
 
CHP officials are still investigating whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. They asked anyone with further information to call them 661-396-6600.
