Oroville Woman Faces DUI and Child Endangerment Charges after Rollover Crash on Grand Oak Drive

 
OROVILLE, CA (October 6, 2023)Sara Jane Osborn was arrested in a DUI rollover crash in Oroville Monday night on October 2.
 
The crash happened around 6:11 p.m. on Grand Oak Drive. According to the CHP, officers responded to a major rollover crash with an injured juvenile passenger.
 
Upon arrival, officers contacted Butte County Sheriff’s deputies who were already on the scene, in response to a call of a possible domestic violence incident, involving Osborn, a 31-year-old Oroville resident.
 
During the investigation, CHP officers learned that Osborn had allegedly fled the area of the domestic violence incident with her two-year-old child in the vehicle, after the victim of the domestic violence incident had called 9-1-1. After fleeing from the scene, Osborn had rolled her vehicle off of the roadway.
 
When deputies attempted to detain Osborn, she became combative and physically assaulted one of the deputies.
 
Deputies also observed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication from Osborn. They took her into custody on multiple charges including DUI and child endangerment.
 
A 2-year-old child had been removed from the vehicle. Paramedics airlifted the child to UC Davis Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

Further investigation is underway.
