Ryan Schlittenhart Involved in Police Chase that Leads to Crash on Lincoln Way in Auburn

 
AUBRUN, CA (March 26, 2021) – Police arrested Ryan Schlittenhart after fleeing from a chase that led to a crash on Lincoln Way on March 23.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Oak Street after 8:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, a police officer was trying to pull over 29-year-old Schlittenhart of Meadow Vista in a motorcycle after he ran at a red light near Electric Street. Schlittenhart sped away from the officer, prompting a chase. Subsequently, the Auburn officer lost control of his car and crashed into a retaining wall. The car then engulfed in flames, trapping the officer inside.
 
Fortunately, two witnesses responded and pulled the officer from the car. Emergency crews then transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
CHP’s Air Unit ultimately spotted Schlittenhart. In the end, officers arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence and evading an officer.
