Ruben Razo Jr. Killed in Bicycle Accident on Murphy Avenue and Ringwood Avenue [San Jose, CA]

Bicyclist Dies after Hit by Car Earlier this Month at Murphy and Ringwood Avenues

 
SAN JOSE, CA (September 19, 2022) – Ruben Razo Jr. died after being hit by a car on Murphy Avenue and Ringwood Avenue on September 11.
 
According to the San Jose Police Department, around 9:49 p.m. Razo Jr. was riding an electric bicycle eastbound in the first lane of Murphy Avenue when he came to a stop at the intersection despite having a green light. A 2017 Lexus sedan traveling in the same direction and lane then rear-ended his bike.
 
First responders rushed Razo Jr. to a hospital with moderate injuries and was stabilized.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Lexus remained on scene and cooperated with police. There were no signs of alcohol or drug impairment.
 
On Wednesday, Razo Jr. suffered complications related to his injuries and was pronounced dead, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
