Rory Antoine Killed, Rafael Pacheco Hurt after Truck Crashes into Anaheim Apartment

 
ANAHEIM, CA (August 25, 2021) — Rory Antoine died Tuesday afternoon after a dump truck crashed into several cars and an apartment building on Lincoln Avenue near the 57 Freeway.
 
According to authorities, the fatal crash happened around 12:45 p.m. For unclear reasons, 54-year-old Rafael Pacheco lost control of his dump truck and slammed into a vehicle, stopped on the off-ramp. Subsequently, he drove across Lincoln Avenue, hit two more vehicles and continued through a carport, into an apartment building before hitting a second one.
 
In the mayhem, a resident identified as 61-year-old Antoine died in the crash. Authorities learned that he was in the first building when the truck traveled through.
 
Following the crash, paramedics brought Pacheco and a 69-year-old man driving one of the cars to UC Irvine Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries.
 
It’s unclear what drove the accident. However, the California Highway Patrol plans to assess all possible factors.
