Ronald Acosta Detained After Police Pursuit Crash on Castroville Boulevard at Highway 156

 
CASTROVILLE, CA (May 30, 2023) — Ronald Acosta faces several charges after a police chase resulted in an accident on Castroville Boulevard near Highway 156.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 2:01 p.m. Saturday. Upon receiving a call, Monterey County Sheriff’s officers responded to a drive-by shooting and located a suspect vehicle. Subsequently, a pursuit unfolded, but as the deputy tried to track down the suspect, the patrol vehicle crashed into another car at Highway 156 and Castroville Boulevard.
 
Paramedics took the deputy and two occupants of the other vehicle to a hospital.
 
Moments later, deputies performed an investigation and found two gel guns and ammunition in the vehicle. Subsequently, they arrested 39-year-old Ronald Anthony Acosta and cited two juvenile males. Police charged the Sacramento man with assault with a deadly weapon, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, violating probation and other charges. He remains booked at the Monterey County Jail.
